Kedro Search is working with a leading national contractor who is looking to appoint a Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer in Wolverhampton, Midlands.
Working under a Project Manager to create a central learning location in the centre of the City of Wolverhampton, with essential works being carried out to the existing College (City of Wolverhampton College’s Metro One building), Library and Adult Education Centre which includes external works, minor demolitions, remodelling, and refurbishment, as well as new build extensions to the Metro One College building with a build value of £40m.
This Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer role is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career with an established contractor who has a proven track record of developing their staff and putting them through numerous training programs.
Responsibilities
- Undertake setting-out and the management of the setting-out process;
- Control the works of the labour teams and issue works to Foreman, gangs and subcontractors in a structured and organised manner.
- Ensure that all site works are conducted in a safe manner.
- Produce documentation on work performance.
- Deal with site problems to ensure that the project remains on plan.
- At all times be aware of the value / cost of the materials.
- Manage subcontractor performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrable experience in the UK civils / construction sectors
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Previous experience of delivering packages of work for a UK civil contractor
- Contract Experience ideally NEC and JCT form of contracts
- Ensure all site personnel, including subcontractors, designers, clients, staff, visitors and others are inducted and have approved risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) in place.
- Supervise and monitor the direct site labour force and monitor, coordinate and manage sub-contractors.
- Managing and coordinating sub contract packages.
- Assist the Project team to ensure the works are constructed to the quality required by the Contract Drawings and specifications.
- Producing technical support to production teams.
- Produce RAMS for directly employed labour and approve RAMS for other elements of the work.
This Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer opportunity pays a basic salary of £50,000 – £65,000 per annum plus a benefits package
