An exciting opportunity for a seasoned Commercial Manager or ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic, forward-thinking and fast-growing business. You will be a key part of the team delivering major, high profile infrastructure projects across the UK.
Job description and Responsibilities
In terms of the role of Senior M&E QS, the ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and ambitious self-starter, able to wholly embrace this businesses dynamic future vision and strategic plan.
Specifically, successful candidates will have demonstrable experience of major infrastructure construction projects across one or more of the businesses key target sectors. With a mandatory background in Building Services and Comms, working within a tier 2 business and possessing a good understanding of design and technology, the ideal candidate will be a strong and confident leader, able to manage, mentor and inspire colleagues, team members and reportees.
Working both pre and post contract, a strong understanding of NEC 3 & 4 as well as other common contract forms is required. You will also be competent in Change Management, including identification and pricing and subsequent agreement with clients.
Qualifications and Experience needed
Ideally university degree approved by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Relevant subjects include construction, civil engineering, maths and building studies.
Other necessary competencies and experience the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate include:
- Claims experience – acceleration, extension of time, disruption
- Monthly commercial cost and profit reporting
- Monthly cost forecasting
- Management of sub-contractor accounts
- Final account preparation and negotiation
